Investment options (in real-estate):

Option 1:

The investor has an option of acquiring a property in the listed areas for a total value equal to or above €500,000.

Option 2:

The investor also has an option of acquiring a property for a total value equal to or above €350,000. This is applicable for such properties which are more than 30 years old or need renovation in urban regeneration areas forming part of listed territories.



Investment options (through capital transfer):


Option 1:

Invest € 500,000 in units of investment funds or venture capital funds of funds dedicated to the capitalization of companies in Portugal with 60% of the investment realized in Portuguese commercial companies.


Option 2:

The investor can also provide for a capital transfer of a minimum of €250,000 towards investment in the arts, or for restoration of national heritage projects.


Other requirements to qualify for the Portugal’s Golden Resident Permit Program

    These are the following requirements under this Program -

  • The investor has to accomplish the requisite investment in any one suitable investment options and the funds for such investment must be sourced from outside Portugal.
  • The investor has to comply with the minimum stay requirement, which is 7 days in the first year and 14 days in the following years.
  • The investor will have to provide with the proof of ownership for the real estate, issued by the Land Registry Office.

Family Coverage under the Portugal’s Golden Resident Permit Program

The spouse of the main investor, his/her children under the age of 18 are eligible to qualify for this program along with the investor. Children above the age of 18 can also apply, provided they are dependent on the main applicant and plan to pursue their higher studies in Portugal.

Processing time

The application is processed usually within 6 months from the date of application.
